Cameron It’s a Credit Crunch

I was to incandescent with anger to comment on yesterdays Radio 4 interview with Tory leader David Cameron, who described the VAT reduction as “a criminal waste of money , described plans to cut tax on savings and at every opportunity telling repeating his mantra to the Prime Minister “it’s a credit crunch dummy”.

I take issue with Cameron; VAT is an insidious tax which hits those on lower incomes the hardest, whilst 2% mightn’t be much to some it’s a darn sight more to those subsisting on nothing more than a state pension. As for tax cuts on savers, yes it’s a “credit crunch”, however the Tories seem to have no idea, what this means, encouraging people to save won’t make the slightest difference to the current financial problems. Banks are refusing to make loans, all they want is cash to bolster their disastrous balance sheets, they’ve no intention of loaning it out again – in fact if you read Kulvinder’s article on Pickled Politics you’ll realise they’ve already loaned it out – that’s the banks problem. A grasp of banking economics eludes the Tories completely.

Are people really about to elect these upper-class twits?
