Cameron’s Broken Not Society

David Cameron will pledge that the Conservatives would “build the NHS and improve it for everyone”, fix our “broken society”, and create a “modern, dynamic economy with the industries and jobs of the future”. BBC.

“Broken society” is one of Cameron’s favourite lines; however once the Conservatives have finished with the UK we’ll know what broken means. Many people have forgotten the last Conservative regime, but what we were left with was a decimated manufacturing industry, crumbling schools, an under funded NHS, in fact underfunded public services full stop. There’s always room for improvement, but we are not broken. I guess Cameron’s theory is tell people it’s broken enough times and they’ll believe you – he’s probably right many people are easily persuaded that things are getting worse despite the reality. Still maybe I’m broken as I’m not the only one who thinks Cameron’s wrong, Boris Johnson criticises Cameron’s broken society as ‘piffle’ – it’s always worrying when you find yourself agreeing with Boris Johnson.
