I know absolutely nothing about Georgia until Russia’s invasion, Thomas de Waal of IWPR has about the best analysis of the recent conflict at Open Democracy, but then again I could be completely wrong.

A quick look at Wikipedia reveals a beautiful country that wouldn’t be out of place in those upmarket get-away-from-it-all travel brochures. I’m stuck for anymore words, instead here’s a lyric from Norman Whitfield and Barrett Strong’s 1969 song “War”.

War it’s nothing but a heartbreaker
War friend only to the undertaker
War is the enemy of all mankind
The thought of war blows my mind
Handed down from generation to generation
Induction destruction
Who wants to die?
