Back in September Shaun Usher, a freelance writer, started the blog, Letters of Note – which Shaun describes as an attempt to gather and sort fascinating letters, postcards, telegrams, faxes, and memos – far more interesting than Twitter – you know the decline in the use of paper is something to be mourned.

Ideas fall into a wide range of categories. There are business ideas, and inventions. Marketing strategies, and money-saving tips. Some posts will just be eye-openers or provide food for your creative fish.

I’ve always been fascinated by George Orwell, so I’m looking forward to the Orwell Diaries which is to publish in blog Orwell’s diaries starting on 9 August 1938 in Morocco and ending in 1942 three years into the Second World War exactly 70 years after they were written.

The Observer’s 50 Most Powerful Blogs

I like lists, The Observer ranks the world’s 50 most powerful blogs of which I read absolutely none, although I do have a friend who’s addicted to the blog at number four – Perez Hilton. Looks like 50 blogs I need to investigate when I get a chance, which probably means no chance.
